Kenneth was educated in Birmingham and Liverpool, from 1978 – 83, he studied Homeopathic Medicine with nobel prize nominee Prof Reinhold Voll MD MSc in Stuttgart, and subsequently at the Royal London Homeopathic Hospital with the late Dr. Marjorie Blackie Physician to HM Queen Elizabeth. He has been Patron of Alkaptonuria Society since 2002.  He was a member of the CDC committee at the University of Central Lancashire in 1993 and helped inaugurate the first degrees in Complementary Medicine. 

In 1995 he advised the University of Salford on the present degree in Chinese Medicine, which has since been a regular part of the university curriculum.

He has been Patron of the Complementary Therapies unit at Christie Hospital NHS Trust Manchester since 2005, and represented the department at the recent visit in March 2007,of HRH The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall.  He is also Patron of the Psychotherapy Council, the Lyme Disease Action Trust, and is immediate past President of the Acupuncture Association of NHS Chartered Physiotherapists.

Kenneth has been an editorial committee member for the global medical publishers, Elsevier since 1996, and is presently a member of the Department of Health Steering Committee, who are presently preparing recommendations for the statutory regulation of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicines.  In March 2007 he chaired the first International Conference of Chinese Medicine at the Royal College of Physicians in London, with David Tredinnick MP and Dr. David Heyman who is the Executive Director of the World Health Organisation.

He is an active fund raiser and supporter of various charities and good causes, he has helped to raise the profile of several organizations particularly involving health issues.  His lineage includes the late 3rd Baron The Lord Cawley of Prestwich who was Deputy Chairman of committees at the House of Lords and the late American actress Miss Bette Davis.
